Trailer Review

November 9, 2010

Wow, this movie looks like it is going to be the shits.  Definitely not seeing this one–in the theaters or on netflix.  Pass!

Photoshoot at the Keating

November 11, 2008

Shooting all day with Karen Morrison at the Keating Hotel downtown San Diego.  We have great stuff from Neiman Marcus, Saks, Tiffany’s, and Bloomingdales.  The results will be in December’s issue and it will be AMAZING!

Donna Karan Update

November 4, 2008

donnakaranDonna Karan has decided not to cast any models for the Spring 2009 campaign but instead to reinterpret/rearrange pictures of her fashion show.

This is one of the major campaigns out there-that is making a very bold statement about advertising budgets, or the lack thereof.  Moreover, I think it is also reflective of the pressure to conserve and not spend lavishly.  Unfortunately for the hedonists out there, flash is so not cool right now.

Bad Styling

November 4, 2008

This guy, Robert Pattinson (whom you probably remember from The Goblet of Fire–he’s the one who died), is good-looking.  I will vouch for that personally.  I saw him after the shows at Smashbox a couple of weeks ago when we went to eat at Swinger’s in West Hollywood.

He is also young and perfectly gangly.  In other words, hard to make look bad for any stylist worth their salt.  Here he looks horrible.  Sure, the fact that he looks completely out of it doesn’t help, but what I am talking about is the OUTFIT.

He is on a world press tour for a new movie.  And apparently the budget for said-tour doesn’t not include a stylist, or even a steamer.  The sharkskin idea was good, the color isn’t bad.  But sleeping in the outfit the night before was not a good idea.

Verdict: Bad Styling

Model Pursuit

November 4, 2008

gjaggerThe Sixteen year old daughter of Mick Jagger, Georgia, is starting her modeling career.   Yes, this one of the offspring of Jerry Hall and Mick’s long union.  You certainly can see the resemblance in the smile.  Although, given that I am American, I have a strong urge to recommend an ortho that I know in NYC.

Piaf Actress for Dior

October 31, 2008

The french actress, who won an Oscar for her brilliant portrayal of Edith Piaf, Marion Cotillard, will be the face of the Lady Dior Bag and the campaign should be out later this year.

Seems amazing to me she wasn’t tapped before to rep a brand.  She is ethereal and stunning.

Could you guess who this is?  Would it help if I lead off with the fact that Conde Nast is asking all of its’ publications to trim their overhead by 5%?  That’s right.  Irrespective of profitability, all their publications.  Vogue, Men’s Vogue, TeenVogue.

Which brings us back to the picture–Anna Wintour.  Don’t tell me that woman doesn’t work hard (in whatever way) to be that skinny.  Or that she hasn’t had some work done over the years.  I am not sure what but my money is on something.
